Is this really the first BSP gig this year? Well it’s definitely my first time in “The Church”.
The Church Venue
Pros – Looks fantastic, plenty of bars and space and all its churchy splendour. Nice light show.
Cons – Almost £5 for a can of Dead Pony. Acoustics bounce around all over the place. Bouncers become a bit too keen when the barriers give way towards the end of the gig and end up grabbing a lad by his lapels for no reason.
The Band
Great as always. The new songs sound even better then they did last year. Really tight performance.
The Crappy Mobile Pics

Here is a collection of images from Leeds city centre in the 90s. More specifically 1999. So, let me take you on a pub crawl around the centre of Leeds in the late 90s…..
As part of my Computing degree back in the late 90s I did a “multimedia guide to the pubs of Leeds” – This involved much careful research of the pubs in Leeds city centre (and a few in Headingly) at the time and I stumbled across a load of (badly taken) photos that I used as part of the multimedia experience!
I make no apologies for the quality of the photos and realise they’re pretty crappy. There are plenty of books with high quality images on this subject. Although none of them seem to have fairly recent media. You’ll notice some of the pubs are still standing and haven’t changed a bit. Anyway…….

Beckett Park Campus

Beckett Park Campus

“Berlins” (now Belgrave Music Hall). This seemed to be the pub everyone started their night in. Notable for the big spinning wheel in the centre of the pub where you could win a prize

“Brannigans” on Vicar Lane (now Travelodge). I remember being in here for England V Germany Euro 96 TVs and bodies everywhere (and beer everywhere when England scored).

“Feast & Firken” (now The Library).

“Felon & Firken” (now O’Neils). They had quite a lot of court/legal and judges stuff on display upstairs (along with a pretty good jukebox).

“Hyde Park Pub” Not really changed much.

“The Three Horseshoes” Not really changed (apart from the sign).

“The New Inn” . Only time I went here is when we did the “Otley Run” one year.

“Woodies Ale House” Used to go in here every Friday lunchtime for chips and gravy or something else typically Northern.

“Square on the Lane” on Boar Lane which is now Sainsburys, Cafe Nero etc.

“Yates” Boar Lane.

“The Observatory” then became “Flares” now “The Black Prince”

“Majestyks” nightclub – avoided and only went in once on a work’s do. Occasionally went to “Jumpin Jacks” round the corner for a laugh.

“Rat & Parrot” opposite Merrion Centre is now Yates/Verity. This was a massive pub. Used to go in a fair bit before Leeds started getting some decent drinking establishments.

“Dry Dock” not changed much apart from a paint job

“The Courtyard” now “Nation of Shopkeepers”.
Was going through some old magazines in the garage and found an old Mojo magazine. Forgot I got a mention

OK I’ll admit it, I’m not a massive Dears fan. I appreciate their work but I don’t listen to them much or have all their albums or anything. However, to have not seen them in Leeds at less than £20 a ticket would’ve been criminal.

Murray Lightburn’s voice is just as powerful and glorious live as it is on record (obvious comparisons to Albarn and Morrissey avoided). A great performance. The sound mix started a little muddy but half way in it was perfect.
When running SSIS components through SQL Server Agent jobs sometimes an error may appear and when viewing the job history you’ll see the helpful “To view the details for the execution, right-click on the Integration Services Catalog, and open the [All Executions] report”. If you attempt this you may get an “Out Of Memory” exception due to the sheer amount of logging your SSIS component is producing.
There’s a way of querying the report through an SQL query and you can filter down the noise accordingly to something similar to the below:
SELECT TOP 15 *, event_message_id,MESSAGE,package_name,event_name,message_source_name,package_path,execution_path,message_type,message_source_type
FROM (
SELECT em.*
FROM SSISDB.catalog.event_messages em
WHERE em.operation_id = (SELECT MAX(execution_id) FROM SSISDB.catalog.executions)
AND event_name NOT LIKE '%Validate%'
)q
/* Put in whatever WHERE predicates you might like*/
WHERE event_name = 'OnError'
ORDER BY message_time DESC
